Why test the CROSSFIT TOTAL? What is it all about?
Read Mark Rippetoe’s, creator of the Total, thoughts HERE on developing your strength through these 3 foundational lifts. “When you’re stronger, metabolic conditioning is easier and endurance stuff (i.e., 5k or 10k runs) is about the same.” “Done correctly, the CrossFit Total is perhaps our best tool for telling us the things we need to know about a very important aspect of our training” -Mark Rippetoe

With out a doubt, the stronger I get the faster I get at running. Faster at anything active. I absolutely love the cycles we have been doing. GREAT JOB TO EVERYONE FOR ALL THE NEW PR’S. Us Crossfitter’s ROCKS.
I agree with Kristy. My running is vastly improved. The strength work has eliminated the knee pain I used to deal with after any run over 2 miles. I am faster and I recover better.
(Though running after max deadlifts is not a recommendation I would make)
I will say my ability to run long distances is hampered. I get bored too easily now. I guess I am used to intervals and 15 minute workouts. I have to incorporate sprints, bench jumps, lunges and stairs in the middle of long tempo runs to keep from getting bored! Guess that’s not all bad.
